The 2018 Ford Flex is a bonafide family wagon. Available in SE, SEL, and Limited trims, the surf wagon is powered by a standard 3.5L V6 that outputs 287 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. The available 2.5L twin-turbo V6 is only paired to an all-wheel drive system and roars an impressive 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.
The SE comes with a standard 4.2-inch instrument cluster and center LCD screen, six-way power driver's seat, a USB port, manual tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and heated side view mirrors. The SEL gets additional features such as blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, a remote start system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and fog lights. The Limited has luxury and convenience features, including leather-trimmed seats, interior ambient lighting, LED tailgates, and HID headlights.
The technology in the Flex is similar to that of other Ford wagons. The tech options include Sync 3 infotainment system, Active Park Assist self-parking system, a 110V power outlet for electronics, a 12-speakers Sony audio system, USB charging ports, and an 8-inch touchscreen for the Sync 3.
The broader torque curve and added power on the base V6 make the Flex an authority on the road.
